Lisa Skarra

Senior Account Executive
Vancouver Island

Lisa has been a Vancouver Island resident since birth, with the exception of a few (cold) years from 2016-2019, where she resided with her husband Kelly in Alberta.  Having had the opportunity to work in Fort McMurray, Alberta directly after the 2016 wildfires, Lisa learned a lot of valuable knowledge about the claims processes during a catastrophic claim, and how to strongly advocate for and protect her client’s best interests.

She began her insurance career while attending Vancouver Island University, where she studied Psychology and Education.  She began as a file clerk in 2001, and was fortunate enough to work with a manager who was a teacher of CAIB Program courses, obtaining her CAIB Designation in 2004.   She excelled in Personal Lines Sales early on in career, and learned a lot from her first manager, much of which she continues to practice today.   While bringing up her three sons on Vancouver Island, Lisa had the opportunity to work with many different brokerages, as her family moved around the island for a period of years while her three sons played competitive hockey.   She has had the opportunity to familiarize herself with several communities on Vancouver Island, as well as work with some really amazing people.   These experiences have enabled her to learn several Broker Management Systems, as well as to identify the unique features of each community.  Most recently, Lisa has worked as a Remote Insurance Advisor, servicing the Lower Mainland primarily, as well as Vancouver Island and other areas of BC.  This recent experience has provided her with extensive knowledge of Condominium and Strata Policy coverage.

Lisa grew up in Qualicum Beach, and left after secondary school to raise her children.  She is thrilled to be living back on Vancouver Island in Qualicum Beach with her husband Kelly.

Lisa is very knowledgeable about Personal Lines Products, however is always eager to learn new things, and hopes to obtain her Life Insurance license in the near future.    She considers her best strength as an Insurance Advisor is her ability to listen to her clients carefully, and make the best recommendations based on their individual insurance needs.   As an independent producer with Central, Lisa is excited to have the ability to offer a wide variety of markets to her clients, and to provide the high level of service that she prides herself on.

When she’s not working hard, Lisa enjoys hiking, as well as weight training with her husband.  Lisa also loves the beach, and spends a lot of time there with her puppy Ozzy.
